Bravo. GALEX! Bravo Yonsei!
The slow data transmission on the PC made our mouth dry each minute.
Dr. Suk-Jin Yoon and I were watching NASA's GALEX launching webcast
on the other side of the globe. In Oxford we were also counting down.
Even during the pre-launch interviews a couple of days ago
I was losing weight.
In five minutes from the successful entry into the 690km orbit,
I circulated the wonderful news to my Oxford colleagues. They have
been asking me about GALEX every other day lately. They are happy
as well, for half of the great science is carried out already for the
successful launch while the rest about to begin.
I am grateful to everyone who made this dream come true (much thanks
goes to Professor Lee) and who openly or quitely supported it.
Bravo. Yonsei! Bravo GALEX! Bravo CSA!
Sukyoung Ken Yi,
perhaps a bit drunk after a glass of celebration wine with Suk-Jin.
